Our Mission

In 2012 Beti Arsovska and Bernard Pesjak founded the Ajvar 5k, an annual signature charitable project under the auspice of the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD). Ajvar 5K’s purpose is strictly aiding  children by coming together for a charitable cause. These races are a great way to help children in need, unite communities, foster the community spirit and to safeguard the human rights of Macedonians. The Ajvar 5k has previously raised money for children with cerebral palsy and sponsored “11th October,” an orphanage in Macedonia. This year the Ajvar 5k will fundraise for children with Down Syndrome and autism. The fundraisers have been held continuously since its launch in 2012 and have taken place all around the world including the US, Canada and Australia.
